I'm curious about alcohol and tobacco usage as well. Tobacco usage in mentally ill has generally been higher. It could simply reflect over all trends in substance choices depending on availability. So many variables unaccounted for.

I read it the same way. You said it better than I could. It seems like an easy way to remove a Gaijin from a Nipponjin-position. Or maybe he made some other execs unhappy behind the scenes.

So, you can't account for that the cost of scale? I guess that makes sense. I'll never ever ever measure things in dollars again because apparently I can't account for the effects of economies of scales... Or I could, you kno

The only way to look at security is to ask: “How many US Dollary-doos does it take to break this?” And if something costs more of them US Dollary-doos to break, then it is “more secure”.

No. And we've done well without telemetry for decades. And don't be daft, multimedia was one of the biggest drivers of technology over the last 5 decades. Telemetry has only been practically possible in the last decade or so. Is i

The GRU/KGB had to come in when you weren’t home. Now you pay to have microphones spying on you. Is anyone else as creeped out that John Brennan is on the board?

Not really. I have a lot of musical equipment. The chips I have are relatively uncommon. Not toilet paper. I’ve only got enough to duplicate things and keep them running if need be. I suspect what I will have will last around end of my life

I’ve been stocking up on various chips and components for the last month. Almost grabbed some STM32s. Maybe if I can find them. I have this growing gut feeling we are at the peak of technology... at least for a while.

Sony C800, anyone? With parts for manufacture being hard to source for Sony, I’ve seen these for nearly 20k, list price (not sure if they actually get that much), second-hand. But then, professional equipment never had economies of scale.
