Speaking of luck, the Formula 3 crash involving Sophia Floersch is one of the craziest displays of luck I can think of. All of it documented here: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/formula-1/2020/04/23/sophia-f

Quite, just looked at Slashdot.org which I used a lot before discovering Hacker News and would add the lack of ads and a long title as killer features on HN. And the great discussions obviously. But good effort still.

Indeed, waiting a bit would have been a reasonable thing to do, instead the change was sanctioned on the same day. The Santa Hat change most likely also made it so much easier to move forward with the renaming of the master branch on GitHub

Tell that to Microsoft who removed the santa hat from Visual Studio Code due to one user. Ironically the issue currently has 18 down-votes. https://github.com/microsoft/vscode/issues/87268

Ransomware that is a result of users clicking on update notices they should not click is very hard to protect against. Even Stuxnet was successful in crossing over to a separate network through the use of USB sticks. Source: https:/&#

Actually the product is called AMD Ryzen™ Threadripper™ by AMD, see https://www.amd.com/en/products/ryzen-threadripper , in general that is reduced to Threadripper for sanity :) I found a nice walkthrough of Ryzen
