Yeah bullshit programming classes https://www.whitehatjr.com/ , where they promise that your kid will become the next Gates/Zuck. Have your kids go outside, let them indulge in free play, explore. We're destroying

KS has become a scam. I crowdfunded this one product, they kept delaying the shipping date, then they said they shipped it, no details of shipment, then they informed me that it was delivered. I gave up, scammy douchebags!

Speech detection is just amazing when you think about illiterate folk, it's a game changer for them. Jio's genius was offering free data plans for a year, getting folks hooked. But the fact that it only costs 9 cents a GB is amazi

But you have pharmaceuticals to help with that, the trick is to keep you just enough alive pumping those drugs in your body. Death is a serious monetary loss.

Have a heart for the Pharmaceutical Industry, how will it survive without sugar-laden foods forced down the pipeline? Who will take all the drugs for so-called "lifestyle diseases"?

Have you seen the Robinhood interface, it's gamified to the extreme, and you expect 20 year olds to be mature enough to resist temptation?

Does not surprise me, skilled practitioners of this dark art are sociopaths. If you have not, a great book to read " The Psychopath Test", where it talks about how a lot of CEOs mirror traits of psychopaths.

Not necessary, interviewed for a Sr Engineer role where I clearly impressed the CTO, but didn't do that great on a stupid coding exercise. And that was not even a requirement for the job, and I told them that was not my strongpoint. I&

I've met some 10X engineers, not the one's you've described but ones that take 10X the time to finish than they initially estimated.

I agree it is relevant, but not many people spend time exploring it or asking the fundamental questions and ruminating on them. If they did, you would have lesser visits to the shrink later in life, and far less inner-strife. I believe phil

Who cares about best in Software Engineering? Time and again I've wanted to do the best, to be asked to just provide a "workable solution" because either the best costs time or money. And I get it, business is all about trade

I work for a company that does about 100M revenue per year. Run everything on prem, we did the numbers if we moved to AWS, it was almost 10 X of our current spend. Again , depends on your business, ours is complex and compute intensive. But

Most people here are saying therapists, but the crux of the problem is the "tech" job. The sooner you can get out the better. Everything else is a band aid.
