This isn't a medical procedure. You are certainly not allowed to make someone go through a medical procedure, since, you know, it doesn't affect you. Not being vaccinated affects everyone, so your choice of whether you get it or n

I don't think you know many anti-vax people if you think education is the answer. Every one I've met is completely unwilling to look at data coming out, and instead relies solely on headlines they've read that are usually inc

That's kind of the key. We require c++17. Without that it gets extremely ugly and more verbose.

We're making a numerical computing library that expression templates are used for compile-time evaluation of expressions. It's a very niche hpc library, so it might be one of the few places it's appropriate.

Can you link to it? We're using expression templates on a new library and I find it useful.

Of course. I've seen that headline in plenty of places. But as soon as you scroll past the headline you see: "However, the two-dose vaccine still works very well in preventing people from getting seriously sick, demonstrating 88%

They're going back to mask mandates because the numbers are going back up due to unvaccinated people... I thought this was all clear?

The vaccine has an overwhelming amount of data showing it's effective, and very little showing side effects. At some point it's a national responsibility to get it. If you don't, then there's nothing that says you should

It's a choice though. You could just get vaccinated and not worry about getting fired.

They're not going to do that for a while. All the money is currently tied up to meet their RDOF funding.

Elon changed nothing about price. He's selling a heavily subsidized terminal that will eventually need to be recouped.

That's the entire point. They're mostly over the ocean/areas without high-paying customers 70-90% of the time. Because of that, it would be more like (in the best case): 42k sats@20G * 0.2 * 5 million subs target = 33Mbps

Your math is way off. 50M subs with the coverage over land and total bandwidth will put their provisioning rate (Bps/sub) way below even the Geo satellite providers. They need to charge a lot more or provide slower service by having mo

There is absolutely no basis for the cost to be that low. Nobody believes that. Not even Elon, since he's commented on it several times.

None other then Elon musk says they need $20-30B in investments to stay afloat recently. They are nowhere near where it needs to be for the terminal cost. The launches can be free and the business will still sink without more government sub

They operate independently, but both are funded by bezos. They don't need to be owned by the same company. They need to both be good at their respective goals and cheap launches will follow. But to be clear, none of this matters. The b

Both. I specifically said the USA because that's where they're going to make the most money, and at a given time only about 10% of their satellites are over it. The satellite capability is one thing, but spectrum is another. Space

I think you're overestimating what it takes to catch up here. There are no contracts. If one is better than the other, people will cancel their service and switch at the drop of a hat.

The number of satellites is an extremely poor metric for capacity. A single GEO satellite has more USA capacity than about 900 LEOs

There is no evidence I've seen showing that it's less than $2000. Please send a link to the source.
