McDonald's did a lot of things wrong with their plant-based meat burger. If you want to see it done right, just take a look at Burger King. In Germany, you can now substitute animal meat for plant-based meat in every burger, and on top

Has somebody used Render and Fly and can comment on the differences? I switched from Herokku to Render, and really like the good UX and docs. Never tried Fly though.

It's not necessarily burn out. I mean, it's possible that the job's just boring. Some people can handle boring jobs better than others, mentally.

Is it? I feel like this would be easily reproducible and would bite them in the ass big time.

Could it just be confirmation bias? Or could it be that the correlation is the other way around: You see something online, decide to pick that as your topic with your partner (unconciously) and the ads show up because of the initial locatio

Bingo. That's the simple and real answer. They invest heavily in sales and lock in big corporates into their ecosystem. Now, they don't have any incentive than to go the extra mile for somehting like Teams. I think it will hurt th

On the flipside, this opens up the space for a new upstart with an innovative take on design tooling, just like how Figma came up.

Sure, let's compare the utility of Ethereum to YouTube or Netflix. You must be kidding.

It's weird to celebrate the electricity savings of Ethereum like this. It's good that it's less energy-intensive now, but it was that energy-intensive before because of Ethereum in the first place.

Completely. And if I'm working solo, I'm also much faster because I don't need to think about how to name classes and when to create new classes or when to re-use existing ones etc.

To that list I'd add Hotwire (especially Stimulus: https://stimulus.hotwired.dev ). I use with Rails, but it's framework/backend agnostic.

Direct air capture hasn't been proven to work at scale. And the key thing we need to do is to reduce emissions, which is done exactly by incentives like this. Was the €9 ticket perfect? No, but it was a good first shot, now we have dat

I've explained why pretty clearly. Trees are not a renewable resource in the context of climate change. They take dozens of years to grow, they are part of an biodiverse ecosystem, and just cutting down forests has a much bigger effect

There are few wrong assumptions with your statement: 1) The wood the house is built with will not be there forever, some day the house will be torn down and the wood burned or rotten 2) Cutting down trees and planting new ones is not a good

The problem is that people believe this type of greenwashing (as can be seen by other comments on this thread). Building a house is never going to be carbon negative. Carbon neutral at best, but even that is going to be almost impossible to

The use of "Carbon negative" really grinds my gears. Carbon negative would mean that by building this house, you actually remove carbon from the atmosphere. No, you don't remove CO2 from the atmosphere by buliding this house.
