Nice. We'll try this during our next team-building. I've got two suggestions for games: Gartic Phone (garticphone.com) is a telephone-like game, suited for online play. Each player comes up with a phrase (e.g. "cat on a hot t

They've already demonstrated that they're willing to use secret courts and gag orders to prevent Apple from disclosing what they're doing (referenced in the article). How would you know if they're abusing it?

This is a back-door. Just because they have to ask the door manufacturer for a key, that doesn't make it "not a back-door". If anyone has access to your encrypted data other than your intended recipients, that is a back door.

It's likely for Bluetooth access rather than WiFi. It's not uncommon for IoT devices to use bluetooth for setup, and it would be trivially cheap to put BLE beacons on every subway station exit in NYC, essentially giving you fine-e

FuckedCompany.com was the source for tips about this. We'd check it every morning, and it predicted our company's layoffs like clockwork.

This happens at a much smaller level too. We knew an au pair that the host family particularly liked, and wanted her long term. A typical au pair contract is for 1 year, maximum is 2. They worked with an immigration attorney to craft a &quo

Every game is easier to learn when you start with simple rules and then add new ones as you go. We teach people Liar's Dice. It's a very simple game, especially if you build it up like this. Everyone gets five Dice. You roll them

The cost of living in California makes the gas taxes irrelevant. Let's compare them. I've picked Vallejo, CA versus Wheeling, IL. Both are about 30 miles from the nearest major city (San Francisco / Chicago). Both are pretty

There's a good read that was put out by OK Cupid (the dating site) 15 years ago outlining exactly this. They had a lot of personality questions that they'd use to match people, so they had a lot of this data correlated with a lot

It should be some multiplier of the mean salary of the population you represent. In California this would be about $96,000. In Mississippi it would be about $54,000. There's a congressional district in New York where it's $31,000.

FWIW, I use a Shaper and I think there are four areas where it is better than a gantry. If I was just blasting out flat parts, I'd go for a typical gantry setup. But I very rarely do that. 1.) Cuts that are not easy on a gantry. It wou

The Origin also talks about repeatability. They sell a fixture that has an image of the tape fixed along with positive stops. The idea is that you can batch out parts quickly by setting up a workspace and swapping parts in. No idea if these
