Let’s be generous and say 1hr of 4K streaming is 10GB, so you can stream 100hrs of 4K content in a month with a 1TB cap - that’s reasonable, assuming everyone in the household watches the same show at the same time. But what if I want to wa

I hate that companies have no concept of storage optimization anymore - sure, higher-res textures take up more space, but there’s literally no excuse for Battlefield 1 taking up 70GB of my PS4 storage. Plus the PS4 does weird stuff with upd

Also, updates are not inconsequential. I've had it happen multiple times where my PS4 has between 2 and 5 update files that are each 5-15GB (sometimes as large as 20-30GB, but that's a rarity) queued up in the same day, and that c

Interesting, it seems this could explain why a ketogenic diet has a cleansing effect, as it also reduces insulin production which may trigger autophagy.

That job looks amazing and makes me wish I wasn’t terrible at soldering. Thanks so much for Etcher, btw - it’s the only GUI software for flashing Pi images to SD that I’ve had good luck with on Mac.

I don't really have anything constructive to add to this conversation, but I wanted to drop a comment here to let you know how brilliant the term "Judas tenants" is - I am definitely going to find a way to use that (or someth

Amazon also has its hooks in consumers even deeper with Prime. Sure, another store might be willing to sell me an item for a couple bucks cheaper, but then when I factor in the extra shipping costs, Amazon comes out ahead - and they defray

Georgia Tech has print-and-play files available free on their site [1], and somebody made a kit for the full game on The Game Crafter [2]. There are also 3D-printable game piece models on Thingiverse [3], if you want more-accurate meeples.

To anyone on MacOS who wants the efficiency of mpv with a nice GUI: IINA [1] is a slick video player for Mac, with minimal UI, web browser plugins, and gesture-based controls, and it's FOSS with mpv and youtube-dl on the backend. [1]:

That’s very interesting. I wonder if the community will pick up the slack when Red Hat stops supporting X, or if they’ll all move in favor of Wayland. I would expect a split between the two at first, with a slow transition to mostly Wayland

As a counterpoint, I’m a traveling coder/student and I abhor tiny screens. If the LG Gram 17 gets an update with a 4K screen, or better yet if Apple releases a zero-bezel 17” MBP the same size as the current 15.4” model, I will jump on

Unfortunately, this is no longer the case. Linux support for WiFi, audio, and suspend/hibernate has been completely broken on 15” MacBook Pros since the 2016 models hit (WiFi still works on the 13” MBPs, afaik).

I cannot for the life of me tell if you’re being sarcastic or not, but in case you’re not: There is no subculture in which 21 servings of alcohol per week is not alcoholism, with the exception of alcoholics who are in denial.
