+1 on "hate doesn't work". Just adding a perspective that you might be missing. The stuff that OP described doesn't really feel like "work" to him. To him its the exact thing you described - it helps him rechar

Hate doesn't work, I'll give you that. I'm hopeful that OP takes your feedback :) But you're very mistaken about the "disregard for convenience". Almost every human strives for convenience, even the folks you a

Hmm, did you make the 240p vs FLAC strawman deliberately? Or is the bug (as you're able to reproduce it) really that bad? I know OP was using high-end headphones but I expected at least a slight hissle. (My attempts to reproduce were w

I have a colleague whose Mac has the same issue as you (2015 MBP 15" Retina). Chrome runs awesome for him, Firefox crawls. However, I have the same model and for me Firefox is as snappy as anything. You're right that this needs to

Actually the content of the article makes this comment slightly unwarranted (unless I'm misreading the tone). The author has described, quite well, on how typography isn't about just subjective artistic choice but largely its func

As it happens in security, something isn't secure by default, you need to verify it is so. I have ZERO way of knowing that UIDAI is following good practices in securing MY[ ] data. Its not secure till I have proof its secure (well, as

Depends on your usecase, really. Static linking has been there for a long time and it has its disadvantages. I have more than a dozen programs on my system that share the same Python runtime and libraries. Compare that to every Go program s

Unfortunately I don't think it will last. Indian government + its agencies are very conservative and I'm sure they will be making attempts at censoring Netflix in India.

There's another angle to this which I think is quite important. 4 years back, I joined a team where the tech lead would always warn developers about the abstraction problem described here. Very regularly I'd hear "Code duplic

I've worked with a 2013 MBP 15" for 4 years and then switched to XPS 13 + Kubuntu. The touchpad is butter smooth - be it taps, clicks, or two finger scrolling (and three finger gestures thanks to comfortable-swipe). Any XPS 13 (93

Same goes for the macOS window manager, its utterly irritating for everyday tasks (think moving a window to another monitor and maximize in one go). Spectacle eased the pain a bit but I feel much more productive just back to Neon and work.
