It isn't Iraq especially in the sense that Iraq had no where to go. On the other hand Russia can get the ** out of Ukraine and then carry on (more or less) as before. Yes, their economy is totally doomed now because it depends on energ

I think that the bull market was definitely created by QE - there were some bloody days on the market in 2008. It was a massive bail out for the financial sector. Did it work - we will see, current signs are not good.

One thing that this will do is accelerate the move to domestic solar in the UK. With a battery it's pretty viable already, throw in the possibility of 0 power it becomes pretty compelling - if you have the cash.

There are lots of jobs in the UK right now - in fact there is a labor shortage. What we don't have is large domestic natural resources, or access to the global market guaranteed by force of arms. We used to have that, but we had to giv

Are you sure that this has nothing to do with the war in Ukraine? If it is down to the Tories then they have really screwed up the EU as well! https://www.iamexpat.de/expat-info/german-expat-news/energy-...

yeah.... it's not good, but it's better than the alternative. And, if we wiggle hard we can probably get out of it in a few years. Once we go under the Russian hand that really will be that.

I think that they may have intended that for "phase 3", if Ukraine had fallen swiftly then 2 years from "then" a push into the Balts would have very much been on the cards.

I've spoken with Hauser about this - his point (in 2012 when I had the conversation) was that the UK simply did not have access to a market big enough to support a global champion. I said (given the date) but what about the EU and he s
