Would you mind elaborating, or sharing some papers on the subject? I'm particularly interested in a dialect of ReasonML that would use the BuckleScript compiler + ConcurrentML but target the BEAM VM, and I'd love to know how bad o

I spoke quite a bit about ReasonML during 2016, hopefully this should cover a lot of what Reason is, how it relates to OCaml, and how it's different: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LCmLQ1-YqQ Happy to answer any ques

I believe most models will refuse to turn on any washlet function if there's no pressure on the entire seat (not sure exactly what the predicate is, but something along those lines). Certainly my model[0] in SF is that way. [0] - ht

Do you have a link? Sounds like it'd be a very interesting watch. Edit: I found one that has an example (I think) around 7:38 http://www.nicovideo.jp.am/watch/sm13963118 - the collision detection pushes megaman in

There's actually a not-too-terrible talk going over some of the challenges of compiling PHP, and how initial promising gains turn out to be very difficult (as OP said) to maintain as you try to encompass the full language. Some great e

I believe the canonical JS implementation is (or will be?) https://github.com/jordwalke/ReLayout - written in Reason and compiled to JS via Bucklescript. Lots of very nice reasons and benefits for this, including rea

Rather than insight, the post you're replying to shows a lack of imagination. Just off the top of my head, I ask myself how much revenue TechCrunch pulls in, and what it originally started as - and I can see a path for PH to become a &

If you'll forgive the shameless plug, I talked a bit about ReasonML here, hopefully it helps clear things up https://youtu.be/QWfHrbSqnB0?t=29m34s Basically, just a new syntax and a blessed-stack approach that really,

It's probably worth elaborating your opinion here. I've used ClojureScript heavily and feel I have a good sense of the comparison, but someone else reading your comment wouldn't be any better informed for it. I'm genui

I agree, but I'd take it a step further - the 15+ million Lo(memory-unsafe!)C for the unix kernel other (all?) trivial apps sits on is also not a good thing.

Why is annotation important? I agree it needs to be possible, but ultimately I want to push the majority off into inference, and only explicitly annotate when necessary or formalizing interfaces OCaml-style. Though I sure do wish I could ha
