I agree a lot with what you said. But I always recommend people travel internationally in their 20s. Sure you can do it when you’re older. And it is still amazing. But there is something about traveling in your youth that can’t be captured

Not sure what you mean by the question? I built the full stack by hand. The iOS is Obj-C and the backend is NodeJS/MySQL. Basically, the MySQL DB has checkin data (provided by users or from social media networks) pivoted on metadata (m

The filter is set to show activity in the last month only - slide the filter to all and you'll see activity. The app has gone a bit into hibernation lately, so the activity has waned. Thx for checking it out though!

I built 'h34t' - shows a realtime heatmap of where people are in the city (search iTunes Store for it). Snapchat just paid $300 million for the same functionality. They could've bought it from me for a lot less ;)

I find having a GitHub repo where I write down what I'm learning in Markdown pages and also link to my coding excercises helps a lot. Also check out AnkiApp

The rush to use Redux for every React project is one of the most annoying parts of the React community; using a tool just to use it, before understanding if you need it or not. This article summarizes a lot of good points.

Perhaps use the new ‘Map’ object in ES6 instead?

Question? Does being good at programming competitions make you good at interviewing for programming jobs? Obviously there's some irony in that question. But I also think there's some truth to it as well.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Anki cards. It's a scientifically proven method to learn any topic through spaced repetition. Any time you find some thing you want to learn - add a card to Anki. Anki will make sure you never fo

Really? Are you sure? If CoffeeScript isn't fully compatible with JS then what is it? I mean at some point it has to go through a JS interpreter to run.

by sghiassy 9y ago
I'm not sure I'd agree that there is the concept of a "coffeescript" developer. Coffeescript is an intermediate language in the same way SASS is to CSS. If you program in SASS and feel out of touch touch with CSS, then I

Agreed - CoffeeScript was a great stop gap solution, but with ES6, it seems it's marginal utility is limited.
