As long as we're shooting down strawmen, why don't I write a similar article entitled "technology will not fix your broken business", where I explain why upgrading your app to the latest version of Rails is not enough to make it an overnigh

Thanks! I personally reserve words like "beautiful" for things like sunsets or mountains, but in any case I'm glad you find the design aesthetically pleasing :)

I've got to say I'm amazed at the number of templates you have. It must've taken quite a lot of total designer hours to create all these. Any plans to code them and let people generate mini-sites from them? I could see that doing pretty wel

Like many said, this is apples and oranges. First of all I had a very different product. My 40 pages eBook took me about 30 hours of work, including the promo site, whereas Jarrod's eBook is 130 pages long and has been in the works for quit

What could Facebook (or Facebook's lawyers) possibly have to gain from this? I also think once they realize their mistake they'll drop the whole thing. Maybe they sent you the C&D just as a shot in the dark, because they don't know who

On the contrary, it can be a lot more gratifying for a designer to be deeply involved in a product's design and make a long-term vision come to life. Gmail is not a good example since it's a fairly mature product, but I'm pretty sure a desi

Even startups with a sizable budget can have a hard time finding designers. It's not just a question of money, but also knowing where to look and what kind of profile to look for. Of course, the same is true for developers, but I feel that
