Yes. No one believes he's capable of handling the current crisis. He had the chance to handle it a month ago and he blew it. Worse, he laid off the team that could have prevented this. This is the tech equivalent of laying off your sec

Yes, Obama was President from 2000 to 2008 when the Fed let the subprime lending happen with stupid monetary policies. The crash happened in 2008 when Bush was still President. A few days later, Lehman Brothers began to falter. Treasury Sec

Yes, because banks are over-leveraged. Regulations that kept leverage in check have been overturned by the GOP.

Companies can pay from their CEO's paychecks. Are you telling me Walmart and McDonald's are hurting? What's the net worth of their founders' families again?

"But if there were ever a time for us not to be partisan and tribal, it's now" - Completely agree. I think GOP should ask Trump to step down and have someone responsible in charge.

Wait what? The administration decides the spending that Congress can approve or reject. Trump was absolutely pushing for the tax cuts when Repubicans had control of the House. Why is no Republican harping about the deficit now? I can unders

This is not illegal. It's just a different way to obtain a green card faster. By the way, I'm one of those people that's NOT gaming the system if there was any confusion. I've been waiting patiently for 9 years now. I&#x

That's the current prediction because of the backlog. Family-based migration is different. On a H1B visa, if you get a priority date today, it'll take you a very long time to get your green card. Every year, the backlog moves by 1

Well, I just don't think about it. Pay being very high makes up for it. My priority date is 2 years behind the current priority date for EB2 so I'm hoping for a miracle. I cannot leave because we are so entrenched here and have lo

Now is the time to leave. 18 years in the US with a kid born here. I missed the boat in getting my priority date around the time when my friends were getting theirs (my company was laying off people in other departments and my application g

In this case accountability would have involved periodically reviewing and catching banned accounts that have been reviewed and making sure they had a valid reason to be revived.

This is just an example. I'm sure there are many others. The developers that take the time to contribute to Spark are making Spark a better product. Amazon is not making it better. Amazon should not claim they made improvements to Spar

There's a difference between people using it and making money off it. What Amazon is doing is putting a wrapper around other people's hard work and claiming it as their own.

"There's no expectation of contribution with open-source software and the vast majority of users don't add anything. That's how it goes. If you don't want to give it away, then simply don't give it away."

EMR isn't open source but Spark is. What does the EMR Spark Runtime if not offer Spark as a service? And the changes to optimize spark runtime, why were they not contributed back to upstream Spark?

Sure, it's contributed where it's convenient. I still don't see a list of committers so that I can look at what those contributions were.

They are disincentivizing (made up word) true open source development and using their monopoly to offer services that vendors cannot compete with easily.

AWS can launch so many services since they are not developing any of them and are just stealing the open source contributions of other companies/developers without contributing anything back.
