If your React SPA can be replaced by htmx, I would say you've chosen the wrong technology from the start. Certain type of applications require a SPA architecture, but most simply don't.

For improving reading & listening, consider listening to an audio book while also following the text at the same time. Good resource for this would be https://librivox.org/ (free public domain audiobooks).

SingleFile looks very promising. You then further organize the saved bookmarks into a folder hierarchy on your disk? Is there any other way to have a quick look at the bookmarks from within the browser itself? edit: found this workflow: ht

No, we are building the tools that eventually could take us to a tech dystopia (and not only tech at that point). New tech can be used for bad things. How do we prevent that? Maybe that's the question we ought to try and find an answer

Elixir paved the way into FP for me. I did Lisp, Prolog and a bit of Java & Javascript done the FP way (I know) at University though, but only with Elixir I've had the "now I get it" Eureka moment.

This is gonna be a hard winter in Europe, that's for sure. I fear a "free for all" type of scenario where everyone will be scraping to get some gas.

We're importing gas, so no. Basically, a weak currency helps exports, hurts imports.

You should be using LiveView only for things that would require a server trip anyway. For client side interactions, use a client side JS library (like Alpine [1] if Phoenix.LiveView.JS [2] is not enough) [1] https://alpinejs.dev

I limit my news intake to just the Wikipedia's "Current events" portal page [1] which provides just the right amount of worldwide current events. [1] https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:Current_events

Umm, using a bidet doesn't exclude at all using toilet paper. It's an "enhancement" to the cleaning process. I often see this misunderstanding in places where bidets aren't the norm (or the law). So, a play on words

Imgproxy is such a reliable piece of technology, set and forget type of thing really. Put it in the cloud somewhere, add some CDN in front of it for caching and you're done. Also a huge money saver when compared to Imgix/Cloudinar

I believe such a travel planning software would have more traction if coupled with the local destination management system, as the locals (curators) would curate the information on events happening in the area, things to see & do etc. T

There may be a better solution to this that I'm just not aware of When that happens, I simply enter 'iex> end' which would return a SyntaxError, and start over but without having to restart iex.

The site is rich with resources on Elixir & Phoenix & LiveView. If you want an introduction to LiveView, I would say this is a very good starting point.

You can do that in LiveView just as easily. Remove the item client side, then pushEvent to the server to handle the deletion. In case of any errors, notify the user, refresh the state .etc pushEvent , pushEventTo (from client to server
