> If it's so bad for gamblers, why don't they stop? Because they're stupid. Gamblers are idiots, gambling companies prey on the dumb. Anyone who understands the very basic math behind the games understands that it's p

I don't think that's what VAC is. I think VAC just looks for known cheat patterns in memory and such, and if it finds indisputable proof of cheating it marks a player for banning in the next wave. Maybe there is some ML involved i

Anyone who trusts LLMs to do anything has shit coming. You can not trust them. If you do, that's on you. I don't care if you want to trust it to manage hiring, you can't. If you do anyway then the ethical problems are squarel

Well if you want to spend your days doing something trivial enough to be automated I guess that might be a concern. I mean I'm not sitting around doing data entry. If I'm automating something it's not my job it's someone

Not really sure what your point is. The employer is worried about getting good return on their investment in me, I am worried about getting good return on the time I'm investing in the company. So my interest is that they recognize tha

I just do my job to the best of my ability. If I can help a colleague I do. I don't expect to get explicitly credited for everything I do. If my employer can't see or don't care about the value I bring, I simply go to one who

That's not what I said. I said I don't read their work. Maybe I do some times, but it's not often and I seriously doubt the $2 or whatever they end up getting after everyone else has their cut makes any difference to them.

I looked up the price for Project Hail Mary which I read recently, it's like $20 and the physical book is the same price. Think about that. Imagine all the work involved in producing and transporting the physical book, compared to just

No, I don't mind giving physical books as gifts to people who want them. In fact I don't mind physical books at all. I just prefer ebooks because an ebook reader is 100 times better. It has backlight so I can read in the dark, it&

Oh yeah because I definitely want to be giving money to entitled shits who'll spit in my food. That makes all the sense. Tipping happens after anyway. And for the record I'm not American, we don't have the insane tipping cult

Staggeringly affordable? Last time I checked ebooks were roughly the same price as physical books. That's ridiculous. If they were like 20% of the price I'd buy them. I don't care man. It doesn't matter to the world whet

Simple, just make it public. You don't bring a lawyer, a lawyer is appointed. This way everyone is on equal footing. Doesn't matter if you're a homeless bum or Jeff Bezos. Both just get an appointed lawyer. If a suit is found

My parents did provide me with materials. They were happy to buy me books and stuff. But school is where I spent most my time and did most of my learning. My single father had enough to deal with, working full time alongside being a farmer.

Where I grew up there wasn't any way to deal with those of us who did better. If you did worse there were all sorts of programs, they would move you to a separate small class so you could get extra help and stuff like that. My problem

Yeah, one that I forgot to mention is if you pause a youtube short and go to a different tab, the short will unpause in the background, or it might change to an entirely different short and start playing that.
