Sounds like you don't understand it and are doing the usual mental gymnastics to justify your ignorance. People always say this about math. If you understand it you'll use it all the time because you'll recognize situations w

And now you know who the devs are who think LLMs will replace us. They're the ones who think this question is too much to ask.

Until someone has a fusion reactor producing energy for the grid, fusion is sci-fi.

On a much smaller scale though, now we do it industrially. Burning all the fossilized old forests we can dig out of the ground - which is even worse because they were no longer part of the carbon cycle.

Nazis are people, and being a nazi is not a crime. Until they commit some sort of crime they should be afforded all the same basic human rights and freedoms as everyone else. That's just basic common sense.

Imagine a lottery where instead of winning, you die in a terrifying way. That's flying. You enter into an aluminium can, and from that point you are completely helpless, whatever happens. The only thing you can do if something goes wro

A problem I see a lot is when the flowcharts should be obvious, but aren't because whoever wrote the code didn't write the obvious solution. Instead they wrote a horrible buggy mess that tries (and usually fails at least a littl

The only part of this process that I don't have a problem with is the technical interview/test. I hear people complain about this type of stuff all the time but based on the tests and challenges I've received they're rea

If apps are using the column they might need code changes to handle the column suddenly having nulls. So you would have to change and redeploy the code, then make the column nullable.

Major life hack. You may not be allowed to cite Wikipedia, but there's nothing stopping you from using wikipedias citations. Also the whole "don't use Wikipedia" thing is idiotic. There's a bunch of tech illiterate

I can't see any links you've posted that agree with what you're saying. I only checked a couple, you said all of them so I figure thats good enough.

This is mostly hypotheticals. I can't argue against hypothetical problems, so all I'm going to say is I'm not convinced this is a danger. I also don't agree that helping humans make scientific progress is a danger. We al

I don't think it's very reasonable to think "AI" is more of an existential threat than global warming and nuclear weapons. In fact I'd say that's a ridiculous claim. The only way I can see AI causing total exti

That doesn't work. If I enter a 4-way roundabout going left, I will start off in the left lane. I will pass two exits and leave through the third. When I exit, someone from the second exit could be in the lane next to me, going to the

Oh yeah I was totally suggesting that you should stop the car, turn all 4 wheels 90 degrees and drive sideways into the next lane. That is exactly what I was suggesting. /s I won't bother trying to expand on my comment to you, you

It's not a big problem to be in the wrong lane. You just change lanes like any other road. And like any other road, when you change lanes, it's your responsibility to make sure the lane you're merging into has space for you.

The part you're missing is you have to yield when changing lanes, just like in any other road. If you are in the inner lane and you want to exit, you have to make sure the coast is clear. In other words, you are responsible for not get

Abstraction isn't the reason code is slow. Reducing abstraction is an utter micro optimization. The idea that abstraction has to give way to performance is a fallacy in most cases. The reason software is slow is because people write sh

Intermittent fasting. I don't know if there are any real documented benefits but anecdotally fasting is pretty nice. I often feel very energized and clear headed while fasting.

If you want 150 grams of pure protein that's about 500g of chicken meat. Other things have protein as well so you could probably bump it down to 400 and have some other stuff like rice and veggies on the side. Thats a pretty big meal b
