Never heard of ncrunch but I googled it and its described as > the ultimate live testing tool for Microsoft Visual Studio and JetBrains Rider So it seems at least that part of your critique is outdated. I'm not sure what you mean a

We use .NET for pretty much everything that doesn't run in a browser, our apps run in Linux containers and devs use windows/Linux/Mac with no issues. GUI libraries might have some potential for improvement but I would reach f

In mine the VS crew is the minority by far. VS is much worse, especially without ReSharper and at that point why not just use rider.

This is such a strange argument. You want to copy and paste code 10 times rather than making a function, because if the requirements change and if the person assigned to fix it is a moron, then it might prevent the moron from choosing o

I don't really know anything about it. In my mind it's similar to vim or vscode, a text editor where you can add lots of functionality but without the customization it probably doesn't do that much useful stuff for you.

Are you implying that JetBrains ides are not competent? Compared to their alternatives like Eclipse, Visual Studio etc I think they're a huge step up. If you're a fan of simpler tools like vim, emacs or vscode etc I can see that t

I play both CS and overwatch, no issues. I'm not sure I've ever met a cheater in OW, and in CS they're rare. In CSGO I was selected for the anti cheat review mechanic, is that also called overwatch? Something like that. Seems

I have 2 vac bans and they've never had any impact on anything other than the games I was banned from. One was from letting my friend use my steam account, I wasn't using it and when I wanted to use it my password was changed and

Your steam account is unaffected by anti-cheat measures. Being banned (vac or otherwise) from CSGO does not prevent you from playing other games, nor from playing CSGO alone. The only trace of it is that your account profile will show that

The fallacy here is that you're assuming that doing things right takes more time. Doing things right takes less time in my experience. You spend a little more time up front to figure out the right way to do something, and a lot of the

I work in a team where we use C# for our backends and React/TS for our frontends. And of course a lot of other stuff, like Docker, Terraform, Azure etc. I would very strongly encourage anyone who suggested introducing different tools i

Most people aren't writing C as far as I know. We use Java, C#, Go, Python etc, some lunatics even use Node. We generally don't care if some mutex is 3x faster than some other mutex. Most of the time if I'm even using a mutex

I'd say good code is easier to understand. Things get at least as complex as they need to be. Some things are just hard, but most things are fairly simple. The difference between a good programmer and a bad one is that the latter will

I do pretty much the same. If any part of the code makes me go "wtf" and sends me down a rabbit hole to figure out why it's like that, I'll typically write a comment about it to save myself and the next guy from that. Ho
