Yes, you're right. My mistake was talking about better/worse governments, while we don't have to choose at all. I should rephrase it as: is our government good? I'm sure nobody can say it is, whichever government it may

Well, I'm more concerned about my platform being subject to the control of my own government. Because I don't care very much about foreign governments given I happen to be a western citizen that has nothing to do with that countri

Yes, there is. However, you should not be worried. I mean, as a western citizen, I prefer my data to be in the hands of a government which has nothing to do with me, instead of my own government. That's what this is all about. Trump wa

All of .net is open source? So you can now run any winforms or wpf app in the operating system of your choice? That's great.

So it's quantity v. quality. As others said, don't pretend to make people believe you have 1.800 repos worth of useful software. EA may have only 27, but at least it's something you may benefit from even if you're not a

Yes, for the technical reasons alone, I'd be switching to AMD. And I guess a lot has changed in 15 years, sure, but as a Linux user, comments reporting issues like these is what worries me. Compared to the mostly hassle-free Intel expe

All my computers were Intel based except for one. It was an Athlon64 X2 from ~2006 and I also felt something was wrong when running Linux. Random crashes happened quite often, I never got to know the cause. Performance was not amazing eithe

Can you please elaborate a bit more on this "now being maintained and advanced with the latest versions of Ubuntu"? I mean, is it really different from the Unity version you can still find and install from the 20.04 official packa

I heard Ubuntu 20.04 still shipped with Unity as a package, but I suppose you can't get it just installing it. After quite some time using 14.04, I miss Unity. In fact, I always liked it, despite all the criticism it got. Compared to G

Yes, but even if they won't call it ZoL anymore, it's not ZFS either, right? ZFS itself is a closed source product by Oracle which doesn't share the same codebase.

Why exactly do you consider it an old technology? The language is evolving the same way others do, with improvements and additions. In fact it recently got a shorter release cycle with new versions every six months.

If that's true, maybe we should stop relying so much on a single company like RedHat. Maybe we need to stop making so many distributions, and instead focus on the tools everybody use.
