One thing I want to emphasize: you are only affected if you're using Ubuntu base images for your node pools. If you're using COS, you are unaffected.

You can name the function anything you’d like. When you deploy the function, you specify the entry point function name. Many of our alpha testers used “F” for function because it’s quick and easy, but that’s not a requirement :)

That's one piece of the functionality, but there's quite a few more. It's a pluggable system that can also generate more than "passwords" (like cloud IAM credentials, database credentials, PKI)

Correct, but it doesn't automate creation of new clusters (for dev, qa, stage, etc). You'd still need github.com/sethvargo/vault-init or similar to automate initialization, but unsealing can be automated in OSS now.

I agree on the operational load, but Vault is free. Did you mean Vault Enterprise? There's two versions - OSS and Enterprise, but a lot of small and mid-sized companies are able to use the free version at scale. Especially if you'
