Clean as it gets? That must not be a very high bar. I bought a Nexus 7 once and it came with an HP Print services app that could not be removed. I would be willing to bet that would be classified as crapware by most users. This is the main

I read that link but it doesn't say anything about MapQuest Open using Mapbox and only discusses their consumer product: http://www.mapquest.com MapQuest Open is separate from their main product and commercial developer off

From what I've seen, wireless carriers don't care too much about retaining existing customers and focus mostly on acquiring new ones. Probably a different story with larger business customers.

I can't help but mentioning that their logo does not load without allowing JavaScript (NoScript user here). Have we really reached the point where JavaScript is required to display a logo on a website?

I tried it with a single account, the UI is nice but I kind of prefer a more dense UI for email. I'm probably just really used to Airmail's UI, it's similar to what Sparrow used to be and I felt that was approaching perfectio

Yeah, after Sparrow was killed off I switched to Airmail for OS X (currently using Airmail 2). It's not without flaws and I'm always keeping an eye on the options. On iOS I'm pretty happy with Microsoft Outlook (can't be

Good for them, why shouldn't they retain control over how their money is dispersed? A LLC also has the advantage of being structured by a custom operating agreement, that can allow the members to cover all kinds of different scenarios

Another reason HLS is so widely used is that the App Store Guidelines require it for video streaming longer than 10 minutes: Video streaming content over a cellular network longer than 10 minutes must use HTTP Live Streaming and include a

An Amazon CloudFront domain is dubious? Sure, they could have configured their DNS to use their own domain on CloudFront instead of the random CNAME they were assigned but I fail to see how that would change the dubiousness of it.

"Gmail founder" sounds a little funny to me. If I am employed as a developer in a company on a new product, am I then a founder of that product? It just seems like the word founder just keeps being used more liberally as time goes

I'm assuming The Weather Channel was left out of the deal to die a slow death on it's own. I wonder if they will launch a new website and set of apps just focused purely on the TV content. You can't have a TV channel without

They bought the Weather Company minus the TV channel side of the business. So I would assume The Weather Channel will remain an independent company just without the digital assets.

You have to enable JavaScript on that page just to read the text in a sane manor, otherwise it's mostly white on a light gray background and barely legible. (Firefox / OS X)

Even for pre-recorded video you still need Flash if you want to implement adaptive bitrate streaming in order to provide multiple quality levels and have the client automatically switch between them rather than buffer.

I don't have those issues with 1440p Flash video on OS X running decent hardware. That said, I truly wish these remaining use cases for Flash were unnecessary, I would not miss it at all.
