I'm sure this has been done but out of curiosity I wrote a (highly unscientific) little script to count the times that some languages are mentioned herein[1]. The results: java: 53 python: 28 ruby: 16 php: 14 node: 9

It seems like this whole hubub is about someone stating openly what's a well known open secret in US politics: He who pays the piper calls the tune. I mean, really, EVERYONE knows this. "Why did my industry's trade association spend 1.8 m

What's the difference between you and the MPAA? Well, how many 1m dollar bills do you have in your back pocket? ;) Yes, I am saying there is a fundamental difference between an entity giving $100 to a campaign and e.g. $5m (if you add in t

Agreed: my comment should not be the top comment; it's just one small critique. I just see this so frequently (low low contrast, hard to read text) as well as other accessibility issues on sites linked from hn that I started griping about

Judging by the position of my comment in the thread, it is not clear that everyone shares your view of it being merely thread pollution. I wasn't really mad, that comment was a play on this joke, which is fairly well known on the net: htt

I'm so mad I metacaptioned an image. http://i.qkme.me/35uqnl.jpg Seriously tho, http://screencast.com/t/Qunx72f4rJC I know these aren't ready yet so they're deemphasized, but I'd like to be able to read them anyway. :)

Woah. That looks mature and robust. Thank you. I will say, however, that the visual icing on this project is nicer, but it looks like the other could be adapted for it.

Any plans for multiple lists and/or remote syncing (or just a file that could be dropboxed/version tracked)? With those two features I'm ready to say goodbye to Wunderlist, which is nice but absolute shit for keyboard navigation.

Perhaps s/he means "given that it's written in Javascript, can I run it in a browser?" I'll venture that the short answer is "no" because all the interfaces are for the CLI. But it looks like most of the application logic (in libs/commands

Oh, also, what do you mean by "deep linking"? I'm not sure what you'd deep-link to... is anything loaded dynamically?

This is pretty cool and I know non-javascript users (besides some screen readers) aren't as common but you've gotta give something to people w/o JS, even if it's just "Please turn on javascript. Read text version here a:github.com/user/p

You are right, I'm writing carelessly. I meant strip loosely as "causes the header to not be sent" or not in full.

by sequoia 15y ago
This is probably not the case, but is it possible that Quora is intentionally stripping the referer header? Duck Duck Go does just this in the interest of user privacy: why should site X know where I came from and what I was searching?
