We use Flowdock, they are very helpful to startups. Their OSX client (based on MacGap) also has great integration with the OS.

I guess it is easier deal with them and using them is more idiomatic in Erlang. For example you can write your own persistent data structures in Java and use them in your concurrent program. Actually you don't have to write your own, Clojur

I love typematrix 2030 dvorak keyboard. http://www.typematrix.com/2030/why.php But Control key position isn't good for Emacs users and there seems to be no alternative key to replace it with Control, like CapsLock on standard keyboards.
