The jsr registry serves typescript, so you have to use typescript tooling, maybe tsc buxy could be esbuild, demo, w/e. The npm compatibility layer compiles typescript to JavaScript on the registry so you can use it without any typescri

I'm not sure jsr fixes comments in package.json, and I wouldn't blame npm for the miss feature. package.json is used at runtime by node.js and strictly parsed as json. Npm or just could strip comments on publish, but local develop

Why do you have dependency x? Why is it pinned to ^14 and not upgraded to 15? I don't want comments as pragma or metadata, I want human readable explanations why.

Npm has optional dependencies and there are libraries that error when you use a code push that requires them. Features would formalize that pattern and improve it with clear errors, and composability.

I think feature dependencies are better modeled than simple package splitting. > For example, let’s say we have added some serialization support to our library, and it requires enabling a corresponding feature > In this example, enabl

My ebike is governored to 28mph, some scooter's have geofenced top speeds. Yet a full car can drive thru a parking lot or residential street with highway speed potential.

The answer is to never throw exceptions from promise returning functions. Mark all promise returning functions `async` - even when it doesn't `await` - because an async function always returns. https://typescript-eslint.io&#
