Makes me wonder what Tanenbaum thinks of the arguably most common MINIX deployment. Considering that their conference has been cancelled [0] it would seem that this OS is largely unexplored and by extension not thoroughly audited. [0] - ht

It is interesting to observe that this teardown has been carried out down under (in Australia). Maybe it had something to do with the timezones and release date.

You won't notice any performance loss as long as you choose DNS servers which are relatively close to you (low latency). For example your own ISP's servers should do fine.

This might be a good time to switch off main SSID and exclusively use Guest SSID which is a feature in many routers. At least it would help to isolate wired computers away from the common wifi network. One could then safely use weird comput

Yes, tools like Comodo firewall by default are set to be quiet and prevent end user prompts as much as possible. Regardless the amount of components (whether it be OS, software or website elements) which attempt connecting is overwhelming f

I am guessing this had something to do with Steve Jobs no longer being there. More freedom for choosing technologies.

I find it fascinating how hard Apple make it to find the battery capacity (mAh or Wh) for iPhones. My understanding is that they do not want people to make a direct mAh capacity comparison to competing phones on the basis that iPhone can &q

With the higher density flash cells on the same surface area, one wonders about the heat dissipation (especially in mobile phones). This and the associated workload (read vs write) ultimately determine the lifespan of these cards.

I guess if one was interested in monitoring traffic of example their mobile phone, one could fix the phone to connect at 2.4GHz only. This would allow a capture to be made using this device. Regardless 5GHz would have been handy to include.
