Ya, but with a security product there are important considerations and while we commented on areas where we fixed a bug due to something fixable, it was a pain in general. Decisions maybe don’t belong in code but with a security product I f

Yea, some of those are hilarious to watch actually. I can't sit there for that long. But I would say on average I can easily waste 10 minutes of someone's time while still getting work done on my side.

This was a thing at my last job. The lack of comments always made me cringe. While not every line needs a comment, there's a reason why comments would be useful, especially in security software. I learned a lot of bad habits there and

I love talking to them because it's time they aren't talking to someone else. My goal is to waste their time, not "outwit" them. I'd like to think that if enough people did this they wouldn't make any money.

The first season I watched was a little tough to follow. There's a lot of new information being thrown at you and teams and all that fun stuff to wrap your head around. I typically just watch qualifying and the race. But it's a ti

I had a lot of weird issues with Notes. Notably folders wouldn't delete and would randomly come back after deletion. Just strange stuff like that. I ended up switching to Bear for notes. I use iA Writer for writing longer form stuff li

I mean that's fair, but I think in general, the advancements they've made to the A series chips over the years has been them a lot easier to continue to support for longer periods of time. Hopefully we'll see Mac's with

This is just a theory, but I think a fair bit changed with this as their custom A series chips improved. It was easier to support devices further back because they started to have such a commanding lead in performance, which gives some extr

Very likely in response to awareness of systemic racism in our culture. Frankly, if it makes this field and career path more welcoming to people I am absolutely fine with it.

Apple does have cost. Specifically in the case of Hey: * Bandwidth to deliver the app to each user that downloads it * App Store Review requires human beings, so there's paying those people * There's also generally maintenance of

Not really the stance I'm taking. If your product has such a high overhead that the listed price for that product is so high that if you add the 30% back in no one would buy then you're probably doing a poor job of pricing your pr

I would choose not to use the app unless there was very clearly value for the cost. If a service was literally doing as you say, charging more through Apple's App Store vs their site, I would choose not to use that app. At all. Part of

I'm really having a hard time wrapping my head around why this is such a huge deal to people. Opinions are fine, everyone can have one but I always see Apple's payment options as a massive win as a consumer. 1. Subscriptions are e

Switching away from ethanol fuels is a super easy way to get more life out of small engine equipment. It's more expensive ~50 cents more a gallon by me, but I use it in all my small gas engines (lawn tractor, leaf blower and weed eater

I've personally found that leaving gas in is fine, under two conditions: 1. You use ethanol free gas. This is more expensive, but it's also the same gas I run in all my lawn equipment so I generally have some around during the sum

I assume what people are interested in is one thing, but things they may _need_ is another. Being able to hoover up information that is more up to date than when you last filled out the survey means they could potentially be more accurate.
