I hope you understand how lucky you've been. Would you say majority of devs have it like you? Because I've experienced the working hour issue. And that's not even at a startup.

Job requires pants, it should be included, but you're obviously not paid for it.

Those jobs are few, not plenty. They also tend not to be tech companies unless they are bodyshop/ad-agencies in which case you'll find 60 hour work weeks.

Smaller companies also have better hiring. I look at the apps from some of the larger corporations in Sweden. It's like the digital version of faecal matter. They pay 2x complete with benefits and insane pension, yet they seem to produ

I have the same issue. I think it's because of changes on the autocomplete settings, but I can't pinpoint it. Have you had any lock? It's annoying as hell as there is no close button either.

Still can't use it for reviewing a commit (git commit -va) kills my MBPr. But glad things are moving forward. Still haven't decided between Atom and Sublime though..

Do you write your UI to production or just define it in Photoshop?

I think that's from the old original operation flashpoint. :-). It's a cool design idea anyway.

They could have explained it differently instead of going backwards. I tried to explain the backwards part to my mum and she didn't quite grok it. Then I explained it from perspective of A, B, C and so on. When A is in charge this affe

Well, it has it's benefits. I don't like Redux and I like Reflux so it allows me to do that. Then again Rails does let you switch out compatible parts. By compatible I mean if it adheres to "Railties", e.g. using Activ

The JavaScript world doesn't like that. That's why no one has made a carbon copy of Rails. Even React, Flux, Router and etc comes in several parts. I know railties are modular but at least they come from the same project and repo

Jedis aren't defenseless. Falun aren't trained fighters with powers. So no. Order 66 is Hitler shutting down the SA for the SS. I just had to "correct" you. Also I do enjoy finding similarities with the empire and Jedis.

I guess this is like a better version of using TypeScript, React, *Flux and RxJS. Mostly because Elm seems to have everything builtin while you might have issues with TS typedefinitions. Also their success/fail tasks for HTTP calls rem

I was actually promoting a stack as that would make things easier, but it's still tacked on a solution that isn't as good. A well designed FSM doesn't necessarily mean an easily read FSM. I always try to draw states and trans

Not sure why I am being downvoted here. A FSM would make things very hard to read compared to a BT. The fact that you would have to use a stack to pop events shows that it might not be the best suited use.

I prefer Objective-C syntax ;-) that's why I chose to learn it after Ruby's "odd" syntax and quirkiness.

Don't go for a FSM. GKRuleSystem[0] to the rescue! Or any other Fuzzy Logic(?) framework. Or maybe a behaviour tree, which is how I would have (tried) to design it with. I hope I get something like this on an interview, instead of &quo

I thought banks, resource companies and actual manufacturing were usually profitable. While most tech lived on VC money, at least when you look at the Bay Area. What am I missing here? Every time I read about this stuff I always get the imp

I am not sure what you mean with "HR companies" but HR in general isn't there for you, it's there for the company. An ex-colleague of mine had to experience that the hard way. She's alright now, but she felt horribl

You'd be surprised how bad it can be working as a developer at non-tech companies. AD-agencies where the projects might be 90% tech even end up being shitty workplaces. You're a second class citizen amongst copy-writers, SCRUM-EXP

It's an issue with projects in general. Phase and type definitions aren't always one to one in most libraries. Even React.

Awesome, it uses TypeScript. Biggest reason I avoid Phaser is because it's always short on type definitions, especially at updates. Nice to see this being written from scratch in TS(?).

Unless Apple are activly working on UXKit a better bet would be an implementation of UIKit with SpriteKit, with sane 'defaults' for Mac OS. I've missed something like CollectionView on Mac OS with same API as UIKit. By sane d

Mobile Devs might be better versed in the UI layer as they would be more familiar. Could end up not having to need a "photoshop-designer". We've used good developers on iOS projects, and while they would do ok with actual log
