I wouldn’t trust anything ORACLE says about any restrictions (or lack thereof) - knowing them, the risk is just too great.

Don’t use it. Period. ORACLE is just releasing this to dupe people into thinking they can use this for free (they can’t).

Still by law firm ORACLE; this software thing is just a side business to extract licence fees out of companies that thought they could use this for free.

Are you proactively showing users the value your service provides, or just relying on “discoverability” that might never happen?

What surprises me is that the user wasn’t instructed to shut it down to prevent further overheating (Apple might have told them - not clear from the story)

Did you guys even read the story? It states this occurred over 2 days (at least) - plenty of time to take the bands off (especially since they weren’t the cause/relevant, and user likely expected to only have to send in the watch unit

Agreed - having to flip an AppleCar onto its roof to charge it will no doubt produce premature wear (though one would wonder if that’d be planned obsolescence instead). :jk:

This was probably known for a while but hidden as a fact so that devices would die prematurely and users would need to buy newer ones sooner.

Once you’re done crushing this patent troll, go after the USPTO for granting bogus patents in the first place - you shouldn’t have to bear the costs of fixing their fuckups.

In addition to taking on and crushing patent trolls, someone needs to also go after the USPTO for causing these people/companies financial hardship by granting these bogus patents in the first place.
