Neweggs policies on card related issues are insane imho. I've actually had my account banned because my wife used my CC to buy something on her newegg account once. The next time I went to make a purchase my account was banned because the

This type of thing is my primary complaint about linode. Their transparency on things that make them look even slightly bad is basically non existent.

That same comment could be turned around just as easily though. If your team mates have no concept of just how much of a distraction they are, or worse they don't care, then they'll interrupt you all the time for random reasons. Some times

> If I need to ask a teammate a question, I turn my head slightly to the left and ask them. Avoiding this is the primary reason I like working at home. Getting distracted by things like that are a productivity killer for me.

He must not live in a location where he needs to drive that much. I'm sure I'm a bit of an outlier, but I've driven 30k miles in the last 11 months... 12k in 2 years is practically unfathomable to me.

This technique was used in a slightly different way on NRO satellites. I think KH-7 was the first (GAMBIT http://www.thespacereview.com/article/1279/1 ). They would get the film moving at the same speed as the ground that they were cover

I was just going to say more or less the same thing. I think I have a better working relationship with one of my coworkers that lives 1500mi from me than the guy I sit next to. Now I'm sure that personality plays a part here, but it's clear

Thank you for taking the high road and exposing the issue rather than giving them the option to hide it (not saying they would).

This is actually a two part problem. oz captured half of it (maintaining hundred of connections in the NAT state table). It can also be caused by saturating your upstream bandwidth, which causes your devices send buffer to fill. When that b

I forgot just how opaque linodes acknowledgement of the issue was. Basicly just a head nod saying "yes, there was an issue." with no follow up or anything. Makes me really appreciate the heroku outage post. Makes me kind of sad to realize

I've complained about this via their support channels a few different times. They're in the middle of a what seems like a very big security fixing phase right now relating to "something provided by one of their vendors". When I asked about

LuaJIT requires mprotect which was disabled in version of iOS pre 5.0. It has been secretly activated in 5.0+, but it's unclear if apple will allow anyone to use it. Feel free to try and let us know the results.

`please` don't use this in scripts. It makes it so hard to debug things later when the next guy comes along and has no idea where you end up after you pop. (can you tell this has been happening to me recently?!)
