Do you really have that long of notes that summarizing your handwritten note into a couple sentences max, and serializing it into org-mode is such a travesty? It really seems like people hate org-mode just to hate it, because they've

I was honestly impressed when I started writing my blog posts in org-mode for Hugo, and accidentally placed the .org file in my content directory, forgot to export it to Markdown, and it actually showed up on my blog. I was like "surel

Then get a legit-looking domain name and hope you don't get algorithmically deranked. It's literally a gamble.

Honestly every game I've ever played with community-run servers has been way better than games with only company-run ones.

And then they push increasingly user-hostile things to try and solve the problem. No Windows passthrough VMs for those of us who don't want Windows touching our hardware, accidental bans because someone reports you for cheating when yo

I believe they're referring to when DDG announced they'd be doing something along the lines of deranking results that are pro-Russian, in context of the Ukraine-Russian war.

Sure, but then Mullvad has all your information. And all it takes is a change of leadership for that to go badly. At the moment, Mullvad is a great service with good goals. But every company hits a threshold where they lose their bearing.

As long as you're using it for the right things. Most of the people here already know this, but I'll say it anyway: VPNs don't make you more secure necessarily, they just reroute your traffic. If you don't trust the netw

Yeah, I don't know where it stores its configuration directory. Also, the on-screen keyboard keeps disappearing, and I can't find a way to keep it on all the time.

I hate that companies do this. I'm very thankful to have found a job where my boss lets me basically self-manage my tasks, and my own hardware. I trust my security more than some IT guys.

It worked well for me. Homeschooled until 7th grade. It helped me make friends, because I had no concept of cliques at the start. Also gave me a good "bullshit" meter for some of the crap public school has started teaching.

That is extremely ugly, and would be weird to handle. I always have a pump on me when I play. Most people bring at least a small bag pump to ball. This seems totally unnecessary.

That's my opinion. We need more of a culture of giving back. I dislike proprietary software, but I have no problem paying for software. For example: there are several apps on F-Droid that give you full functionality (even if there is a

I'm going to leave the obligatory "Org-mode better" comment that inevitably pops up on these posts. I used to enjoy Notion. But it's closed-source, tiered and feature-limited, needs internet, and runs like a sloth. If wh
