What are your specs like? I've used it on my netbook and a cheap 2006 Dell laptop (no animations) and a dual-core Atom board (animations) and everything had been smooth and quick. I wonder if the problem is driver support.

Steam missing EA's titles is a recent development caused by EA starting their own competitor, Origin. It remains to be seen whether Origin can gain any traction as a (currently) single publisher platform, but it is required by their new rel

"Non-pharmaceuticals" and "alternative medicine" are distinct but overlapping sets. In any case, to quote Tim Minchin: "Do you know what they call 'alternative medicine' that's been proven to work? Medicine." And peer-reviewed research is g

Right, but pseudo-randomness is still monadic because you are mutating the state of the random number generator. That it is in IO is an implementation detail of where that generator's state lives. It's been a little while since I worked wit

To a large extent this is the purpose of the House of Lords in UK parliament. The selection process for its members is not at all democratic which leaves a bad taste in many people's mouths. But the general concept of an elected body whose

Nobody is suggesting that. In any case it's a false comparison, since anybody has the ability to fully exercise their freedom of speech. To exercise your open-source freedoms fully require skills, time, and/or money (to pay others to do it

The unsaid thing about freedoms is you cannot exercise them unless you have the means to do so. If you don't have that, the only value freedoms afford you is aspirational. Given that the potential to do something is worth a whole lot less t

I wrote my thesis on an immutable data store as a means to beat CAP. I didn't get quite as far as your other observations though, as mine was in the context of continuation web frameworks. Very nice write-up however.
