Agreed. And on Windows at least there are now mitigation measures created by the community, such as WUMT.

Dell's default installation was so full of junk that it lead to the rise of the "Dell Decrapifier", a script specifically written to remove all the junk from the default install and turn a Dell into a usable computer. https:

Isn't the ball terribly unbalanced? Trackball users often "throw" the cursor, where the ball rotates freely at speed, and it would induce an awkward wobble with an unbalanced ball.

Factorio is such a high quality game. Not just the gameplay, but the entire development process where every alpha release is actually really stable and playable, certainly more stable and playable than most big-budget games are on release d

Amongst the total conversions, I've quite enjoyed Krastorio 2. If you're into really detailed and complex factories, Industrial Revolution might be for you.

We're living on a boat. We have 600W solar and that's sufficient for most of our power needs. Of course living off solar means on some days you'll not be doing GPU intensive stuff on the computer (which tends to turn it from

I find the syntax both terrible to read and terrible to write. Syntax is what I look at first with any unfamiliar programming language. The syntax is the UI of a language and if that's terrible, I won't enjoy using it.

I can't deal with these 16:9 screens. Especially when almost all models have a plastic "chin" at the bottom of the screen where the missing pixels (to make it a full 16:10 screen) would be - there's clearly room for it,

I quite like the learn-by-commit style. Look at a diff and see what changes it took to add a feature. Very good way of showing things in a format everyone is already familiar with.

You forgot: "Should be as small as technically possible". Xcode is the fat, bloated bastard I'm looking at, but there's plenty more. And on mobile, where bandwidth is often metered it's even worse.
