Wish someone would fix some of the more severe bugs in the Nikon 1 AW1, which they abandoned soon after release :-/ There was a single firmware update, and among other stuff, the GPS location still confuses East and West afterwards.

Agreed. Also the cropping of image previews to square format. You literally can't see the portrait orientation of the Xero Alto monitor. Argh.

I think so. But we mostly cook, so ingredient availability/price is more important than restaurants, which however I also found much better in France. Of course it probably depends on the areas you visit and how you select restaurants.

Turbo Vision is odd. It's a backport of a graphical UI (Windows 3.0) to text mode. It was exceptionally well done in both end user and developer ease of use and caught on. But I doubt it's the optimum for a text based UI, at least
