I agree about Bitcoin, but other cryptocurrencies like Ethereum or Solana have use as gas to power transactions on their respective networks. So it's interesting to see Vanguard nix those two as well and then say "We do have a lot

This is amazing, but I find it disappointing that the NYSE (current owner) hasn't collected interest on it since 2004. Given that most of the charm is that this is still an active financial document, I don't understand why they wo

Thanks! Yeah, even though most of the game takes place on your phone, I (ironically) couldn't think of great ways to port some of the mechanics to mobile in a satisfying way. The microphone thing is just a small interaction when you tr

I guess if they can't figure that out then they probably wouldn't have a very good time with the rest of the game.

Not saying you're wrong, but I don't really understand people's aversion to creating an account. It's like quitting an RPG once they reach the create a character screen. Also, it seems like ~60% of people give up before

A Dark Room is great! I started playing it a lot mid way through developing this. That and Universal Paperclips are the gold standards of minimalist web-based games.

Try adding `?voice=` to the end of the url, and then the first name of the voice you want based on the /talk link. Example: `?voice=Samantha`

Some folks are having issues with the SpeechSynthesis on their device. Try refreshing. If that doesn't work, then go to Settings and disable sound.

It really depends on how expensive/easy it is to off board in your Costa Rican account. But the fees for getting it there should be minimal, if not a bit convoluted. Ultimately, the cheapest way is to buy an ETH L2 or Solana stable coi

People love shitting on NFTs, but there's still a really good art scene based on NFTs and smart contracts. And once you have digital objects that you actually care about, all the web3 infrastructure is surprisingly useful.

I guess there are a few concerns here. What if the game developer goes out of business, or dies, or accidentally drops their db? What happens if they decide they don't like one of their collectors and want to wipe their balance clean?
