Day trading stocks is silly. Futures are much better instruments for frequent trading from cost, tax, ease, liquidity, etc.

I've seen this oft repeated bit about only margin account holdings can be lent out to shorts. Do you happen to know the regulation or law that says this is the case? Or is this another instance of drinking 8 glasses of water a day?

Does hiring a remote worker trigger nexus if you don't otherwise have a "presence" there? I'm sure you'll need to register with the secretary of state there to pay payroll taxes.

Same here. It's all bras and "slimming clothing" ads. I'm neither a woman nor am I obese. I've repeatedly clicked on the "this ad is not relevant" buttons but they just bombard me with more. I haven't

It's more than half dogs. People in SF just don't care. Also, it wasn't such a good idea to give shelter animals to the permanent homeless. Now not only can they not get into a shelter, but now something else is dropping turd

Let's also not forget the animal element of street poop here. I live in Russian Hill, a not rough part of SF, and I daily see people neglecting to clean up after their dogs. These people belong to no particular group: young, old, rich,

It depends on your building's setup. We have a gig radio on the roof with G.Fast inside the building to each unit. I get 200mbps up and down. $35/mo tough to beat unless you can get Sonic fiber.

What's the reason to not like Comcast? For me it was Sonic at $90/mo for 3 maybe 4mbps (not a lie), or Comcast at $80 for 300mbps. It's a no-brainer there. I'm not doing anything illegal so I don't care about Comcas

Are Euro wild boars not dangerous? So much for that Black Forest Ham premium! Boars definitely attack people in the US, and the wounds can be bad to the lower body and gut. Lots of blood loss isn't uncommon.

Cassandra handles this pretty nicely. Files are immutable, so files are hard-linked to a snapshot directory. Copy out the snapshot directory, delete it, and things are eventually consistent. We restore our MySQL and Cassandra data every day

That's what I started out with. Pretty useless. Blocking the entire ASN is pretty easy and most won't care what is what.

Yep plus 1000 to this. I tried doing this 4 years ago and it was a miserable experience. And rightly so to be honest. For every privacy focused nerd, there are 1000 lowlife hackers and spammers trying to use something as a bounce proxy.

You didn't move out of 200 Paul until long after you were acquired though. I always wondered why you were there, as there are better connected facilities and those that had cheaper power. Was TelX a hedge or something?

If that was actually the case, why the f did they have a boatload of gear in 200 Paul? There's almost no peering exchange there whatsoever (until SFMIX about 3 years ago). Can think of a lot better connected places in the Bay.

a) You're ignoring the "and whatever else is next" part of my statement. If you're on-prem, you don't need to worry about hostile neighbors. Google Cloud engineers could be great at securing public cloud workloads,

No, you're missing the point. The comment I replied to said, "your servers are vulnerable no matter on prem or cloud." If you're in the cloud, you're vulnerable to an entire suite of attacks that you're not exp

The authors of SPECTRE, Meltdown, Rowhammer (1-4),and whatever else is next would probably disagree with you. Running in cloud providers absolutely without doubt exposes your presence to hostile neighbors scheduled on the same hyoervisor.

Curious that criminals would import semi auto rifles from the US when Brazil has a very large domestic gun maker (Taurus). The Taurus guns should be massively cheaper. Unless you're referring to the full auto weapons flooded into South

I have access to all of this data for other people because they sign up for services with the wrong email address (mine). Tying all security to only an email is dumb for important services.
