If that's the case I'm assuming the commit itself is quite large then? Or maybe it would more accurate to say it can be large if all the changes logically go together? I'm thinking in terms of what I often see from people I w

I'm assuming a "patch" is a group of commits. So would a "patch series" be similar to GitLabs notion of dependent MRs?

Zig makes a lot of small choices that pile up to push you towards safety/correctness in your code. No hidden allocations is a big one. If something allocates you have to explicitly give it an allocator. This makes tracking allocations

I don't think you understand what he saying. Rust is 100% memory safe in specific places yes, but much less so when you have to dip into unsafe Rust. Unsafe memory access will always exist, you can't do anything about it. If you n

My understanding from reading other blogs on TigerBeetle (and the Power of Ten rule) is that it's not that they aren't allocating at all. It's all static allocation up front. Zig makes these far easier to manage with its use

Interesting, I didn't know that. I just assumed it would be based on glibc. I would argue that in this case though the kernel is more relavent. So I'd still say Android is Linux based.

Fair point. But if we're going to include that we have to include Android in the Linux camp. Which is gonna dumpster the Linux ratio.

This should be called the carnival model of engineering - Build something that is total dogshit but just good enough not to totally fall apart - Convince people to pay you for it - Close up shop and split after you've got all their mon

In terms of ratio today I would assume BSD would have the highest. Near 100% frankly.

No, I was making a point. Asahi Linux is a volunteer project. Devs commit their free time to work on something incredibly difficult, giving people the ability to run Linux on an entirely new platform, and all people can do is complain it is

After sticking to Firefox since it first came out, I finally switched to Vivaldi. Not happy it's Chromium based but it's the next best option I could find.

How is that not helpful? A group of volunteers working in their spare time to do something incredibly difficult clearly aren't working fast enough for this person. The logical thing to do would be to jump in and help.

To think that I'm saying all humans intend to produce truth you'd have to intentionally misread my comment. Wikipedia obviously has to deal with bad actors and vandalism, and they have processes in place for that. My point is that

Gotcha. That's definitely an important point and seems difficult to communicate in a single word or quick blurb. I can see why you went with stateless. It's just a little confusing in this context (for me at least).
