Absolutely. Big thick A pillars have increased survivability in crashes (embedded airbags, stronger structure) but that doesn't come for free - they cause some accidents (hiding bikers, also cars when pulling out of junctions). I'

So... I can't say "good" but you can say "beneficial." Reduction of friction is not clearly beneficial! That's exactly the point. Superficially it appears to be, but it absolutely isn't the case. Reducing

> The internet is an amoral force that reduces friction, not an inevitable force for good. This is well said and something everyone in tech should remember. Unintended consequence is a law with teeth.

Seconded. It's just different enough from Illustrator to be unsettling for the first few days, but the core of it is immediately and very obviously excellent. I persevered (it's vastly less money) and I'm very pleased I did.

You're wasting a fair bit. You can get a qualitative sense by feeling how warm the fan exhaust is: I use my cheese grater Mac Pro to stop my uninsulated home office freezing up in the winter. However, despite the savings, you may not b

A dreadful article on a good topic. Repetitious, poorly-worded, unclear (the "how to" for Excel contains no actual instructions).

There's a curiously large connection between 4Chan's audience and the far right if satirical memes are getting co-opted that easily. What an odd demographic they must have; both satire enthusiasts and their targets coexisting in

Ugh no please don't think about it! I'm a diver too and had a lovely time teaching my little blonde haired, blue eyed kids all the various hand signals, including this one. So how about this still means "OK" if you'

Should point out that we're both forgetting that Stallman actually resigned, though who knows under what pressure. So this entire debate is pretty moot. But for the sake of argument, we'll say he was fired. So it seems like we agr

Ugh I thought that was amusing, at least until I read yesterday about a 10 year old girl in Texas who died from exactly this. The amoeba is called Naegleria Fowleri and nagelerisis is a terrifying way to die: even with treatment there'

Visiting friends in Florida recently, they warned our kids not to go in the landscaped pond in their development (it had a beach). I asked if snakes were a danger. They laughed, not in the least: the real problem was flesh-eating amoebae.

The problem was that, with such limited memory available to the computer, it erased all the en-route navigational data to make room for the preflight data. So now you have a spacecraft on its way to the moon with no way to know where it is.
