I've read Rumi. Now, if you know the C Jung quote paraphrasing that, in the end all human problems are unsolvable from inside the package in which they came, and that change happens from a new perspective which itself requires a new, h

Agree - the idea that R v. D alone has serious explanatory power is silly. It's naive to think that money does not have the greater effect on politics than the converse. This is a power issue not an issue that arises out of political p

Right. My question was off base there. Should have focused on memory ownership insofar as where the memory goes when deallocated.

Off hand question for Rust: if memory is borrowed, I gather Rust does not need --- perhaps resists --- C++ style allocators? Here I give emphasis to owner of the (heap) data rather than efficiency. Both languages might use an allocator for

Wanna know what? Amen to that approach. Nothing like throw away papers and throw away prototypes. Nothing like getting the team on the same page --- more grounded in reality than chit chat or PPTs or bubbles and arrows --- while not under p

The OP's post is true iff you limit your timeframe to near term and if you luck out and get all or most of the domain requirements in early and they don't change or one decides the complexity and labor to evolve those requirements

I don't see how one can run and hide from Linus' point. Exception/panic based work is problematic in libraries, and has no place in kernels. Erlang's OTP supervision trees is as others have pointed out, a runtime issue t

Update: By specifying only .a libs I've eliminated all undefined symbols. The last linker issue: 'ERR_load_strings' is duplicated between Oracle libs and libpq's dependent libs. This symbol cannot be stripped (it's
