Well, Amazon uses the list-view in their search results. Never noticed this but now I assume that if they do it then it's been tested and deemed better.

Thank you for pointing it out. I assumed it would be like this but didn't find it scanning the page.

Sounds reasonable. But there's also people that are skilled but dislike change. They will be rewarded and will feel confirmed in their belief ("it will be rewarded to stay on board") this way.

Hi, I have an idea for something that I could really use but can't find anywhere.. So let's say I design my thingy, I'm thinking of roughly the size of 20cm x 5cm x 4cm, how much would it roughly cost to have this printed and sent to me? Wo

I wonder why you react so emotionally. Come on, someone wrote something that I find somewhat relevant, I link to it, and you call me a misogynist, which, by the way, I assure you I am not.

Normally I don't think this link belongs here (after all its Hacker News and not Sociology Today), but since we're talking about genders here's a good article on the negative consequences of feminism: http://www.singularity2050.com/2010/01

According to http://www.phonearena.com/news/iPhone-4-sales-hit-a-million-... AT&T sold 1.7 million units on the first weekend. I wonder if Steve Jobs being dead actually is a reason for increased sales. It could be like a singer dying

I was expecting a 404 for Oracle and SAP. But it's probably 1000 pages of PDF equivalent to 404. Nice collection though.

And it's things like that that will make even more people vote the Pirate Party. Luckily the German public is by and large opposed to surveillance. (for historical reasons)

Agreed, however I'd say the technology barrier to compete is not that high and it might soon be common to share files conveniently. With a choice of many services that offer the same. That would probably lower the value of Dropbox significa

Wouldn't pirates be able to make Windows copies that have a valid BootManager? Wouldn't OEM's be able to ship chips that allow original Windows to be booted as well as Linux? This is yet another futile attempt to prevent piracy. Besides, pi
