I'm not so critical of the language itself (it's just another language), but how it's managed and promoted. I'm also critical about some of it evangelists. For example, from your comment I can learn I work in (or with?)

I liked the article, and as an outsider to the discussion (I do embedded C for a living, and C++ as in "C with classes") I might add: What I've seen so far is that Rust tries to lure C developers with a sort-of "memory-m

Sorry. I don't know if you are saying that you won't be able to concatenate strings without operators, or if you choose a language just because it allows you to use a "a = b + c" form with strings. For the first case, of

The difference is that you know (or can know, or predict) the outcome. In C++ a=b+c could be a simple addition or an operation that takes an hour, allocates 1GB of RAM, opens a socket and requests a JSON document from a server in China. Y

Police patrol != stopping people. And I wouldn't mind. I've been stopped so many times I can't even remember. If I live in high crime area, I'd want the police to patrol often. Wouldn't you? And high crime areas are

One could speed up things by having a ML model for rating dicks. Until someone creates thisdickdoesnotexist.com to game the system. PS: apparently the domain is up. IDK... I ran out of original ideas.

Aside for the lack of new, original and iconic characters and stories, we are living in a bad period for reboots of our favourite stories to be re-made and re-written by americans. I only hope it will end soon.

I think it’s OK to write a blog post about your progress, with a positive attitude. A very different thing is to write a blog post refuting a troll. “Don’t feed the troll” is as old as the internet.

If the alternative you propose is RTOS/scheduler then the synchronous main-loop approach for embedded is, by far, more common than the alternative.
