Link-backup does this as well, plus it knows how to build hard links to old backups even when directory structure or filenames change, effectively de-dup support. It does this by building a content addressable index on the destination files

The Steam executable, libraries, data files, and games install with user permissions. This way games can install and update, and Steam itself can auto-update, without privledge escalation. Windows and Mac versions behave this way. There is

In the iPhone version of Warfare Incorporated, testers were geographically somewhere else which made this problem even more fun. A history of the state on each client that led up to the divergence is needed to find these problems. When hash
