This. Just like with various decriminalization laws, the poor suffer the consequences while the rich feel no consequences of their “deeply caring” policies.

I literally gasped when I heard this. There is something uniquely sad when one's favorite comedian passes away. There were many things that made him special, but one thing stands out right now: I don't think I've ever seen

Another anecdote: I'm driving near my home. I see some teenagers hanging out alone by a river. My immediate thought: "what are they up to..." as I'm used to shenanigans in SF. As I drive by I take a look and...they'

Friendliness is another dynamic I’ve been totally surprised by. People waving and saying hi while you’re walking. The McDonalds cashier telling my wife she liked her dress. Kids on the playground seeing my son fall and coming over to help h

I recently moved from SF to Texas. I walked into a Walgreens for the first time here in TX and thought I was in the Truman show…everything was suspiciously clean, well organized, and friendly. Was this some kind of hidden camera show? Growi

Indeed. I'm surprised this is not a main part of the HN conversation. It concerns me that the IRS leaking personal financial information is not the main story.

This reminds me of how I became a better guitar player by learning piano. I had been playing guitar (classical & metal mostly) for about 15 years before learning piano. Upon learning some basic piano, I found the guitar fretboard came a

A couple of thoughts: - This is a very interesting piece of news cognitively. It is very odd to have a "pre-existing" relationship with somebody, completely separate from space, before they take such a launch. I've had greate
