That has never been wasted time for me so I disagree on your sentiment. Sleeping is a very fulfilling and engaging activity. I would rather not have the pace set by an expectation of increased "productivity".

Not to mention fuzzy ownership interpretations. If it (the "AI") does something like incorrectly target a hospital instead of a bunker, who is responsible?

Good reference. I think "I Have No Mouth and Must Scream" is also standard material for futurist "AI" engineers. Edit: on the contrary

My confusion stemmed from this stigma and why, specifically, Fortnite players are an interesting audience to indies.

by scollet 6y ago
I can see the platform being a shared space between developers as a great benefit to indies. I wouldn't describe Fortnite players as engaged any more than I would describe a gambling den habitant as engaged. In this case the latter is

Is this a real comment?

I'm not following this comment. Is it because the intersectionality of players includes lower-income people, children, and those struggling with addiction?

I think the difference of opinion is whether or not you think on-paper democracy includes lobbying as a natural mechanism for law making and whether or not lobbying is, respectively, a workaround.

I think it's worth mentioning that this blog was shared and lauded on HN instead of a ground floor worker's narrative. So yes, it's not really attempting an impact on this audience.

I see what you mean. I was a late adopter so it's a bit out of my scope. I would hope that they can tackle a horror game again and bring us the modern Silent Hill.
