This. At my previous job we had to serve content from Salesforce and Marketo from subdomains of our main domain. Rather than use CNAMEs direct to those companies, we proxied the requests so we could strip cookies etc.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that actually is how it works. I have Firefox Preview (which is built on top of GeckoView) installed as my default Android browser, so I believe webviews from other apps are rendered using Firefox's

Actually, it is still true. Electroloysis split up Firefox into multiple processes, but not every site gets its own process. Work is underway to change this and achieve full site isolation in https://wiki.mozilla.org/Projec
