This is one of those rare things that seems so obvious and simple yet awesome that I immediately slap myself in the face for not thinking of it already. Great idea :)

I've been looking for something like this. My use case is that I have a bunch of really old bioinformatics programs that are a pain to install and I want to run them from a web app. Instead of bundling all of the weird dependencies wit

I'm not sure if the privacy protection claims made by Gmelius are true. The plugin claims that I am being tracked via tracking pixel (or other image) embedded in emails and that the trackers know when I read my email and where I read i

Awesome tool! I've always wanted to make menubar apps but never wanted to learn Xcode+ObjectiveC. Related: Is there no simple way to get the current temperature for location based off of GeoIP using `curl`? I had to use this monstrosit

If the devices were encrypted beforehand, would that even help? I wonder if these actions could be legitimized by Uber claiming that they were merely trying to protect user data.

Genome sequencing requires a lot of CPU power and disk space. You could build an application that performs these tasks and use the first $100k in compute power to help it grow. There is a lot of domain-specific knowledge in this field and I

I agree that the website is lacking details. If the project is anything like the American Gut Project (which the page suggests), your data will be made available on GitHub [1]. This paper [2] describes the methodology that was used to gener

The difference is well within the variation you'd expect from multiple samples, extraction, PCR, sequencing, day-to-day. Also, you're probably better off trying to alter your gut microbiome through ingestion of probiotics. Source:

I've been looking for a replacement for Evernote for a while. So far I've tried wikis, bluenote, vim + git + markdown. The most important feature keeping me with Evernote is the ability to drag and drop images.
