I've found IEM-style headphones are better. Since they already block out some of the ambient noise by plugging your ears, much lower volume levels are required to block out distractions.

Aren't there still benefits to running at lower speeds? Electric motors aren't magic frictionless devices, higher speeds must still produce increased wear and heat.

It's hard to define 'paddle driven' cars, since of course any automatic transmission car could have paddles that allow manual shifting. I assume you're talking about the paddle-shifted transmissions found Ferraris, Lambo

Interesting -- most water softener setups I have seen are only plumbed into the hot water, I've been told that this is because drinking softened water is not recommended.
