Poor article. Chose worst-case images to make Messages look as bad as possible. Same with the stacked, floating UI items. And the "search bar" change causing us to re-learn habits? NOT TRUE. The old way works too; but now there&#x

A decision tree is simply a model where you follow branches and make a decision at each point. Like... If we had tech support for a toaster, you might see: if toaster toasts the bread: if no: has turning it off and on again work

I have sympathy for those affected but this article is disingenuous. I speak Spanish and have just gone to 3 or 4 Spanish news sites, and passed their articles through to ChatGPT to translate "faithfully and literally, maintaining ever

I never thought too much about what you just said — specifically about web interfaces and their single-window nature — but now that you mention it, a lot has changed as a direct result. I think of an app like Photoshop, and it had one windo

I've got it on. I don't take any other extensive means to protect my security but this was very easy and felt worth it given the honeypot of info living in my phone. There may, in fact, be dozens of us.

I didn't read the quoted message as saying that Apple won't fight, but that if you need to rely on Apple to fight ( especially when you live outside Apple's home country), you've got serious problems.

Thanks, I am —- but I always found it easier to just give the new commit a name I know how to squash rather than type in a SHA. The other post about being able to do it on a substring match sounds way more ergonomic though, I’ll have to try

This seems very similar to how I work by default. I sort of think in terms of "keyframes" and "frames", or "commits" and "fixes to commits." Whenever I sit down to code with a purpose, I'll make

I don’t actually think it’s that bad. If all of a sudden we started hearing an awful lot about Android phones having viruses, to the point where almost everyone had a friend who got a virus on their android. I think the market would actuall

Interesting anecdote on Plenty of Fish. It’s definitely interesting how people aren’t really good at telling you what they like; empirical evidence is far better. I believe Paul Graham has an essay on a similar topic where if you ask people

American Imperialism has absolutely resulted in some horrible things, but I hardly think that ASCII is one of them. ASCII wasn't "imperialism," it was pragmatism. Yes, it privileged English -- but that's because the engi
