Is the browser truly isolated if X11 forwarding is being used? Edit to clarify that this is an actual question and I don’t know the answer.

If there are genetic factors that predispose certain behaviors/traits, those would almost certainly be used for targeting marketing/manipulation campaigns.

I suspect change will have to begin at the state level. Does anyone know which state has taken the most steps toward universal health care?

Interesting update: > We've received a preliminary explanation from the data center that suggests that a battery test went horribly wrong due to human error and wiped out at least the entire floor we're on. Possibly more. It&#x

I wonder if this post would get more traction if it was submitted as a Show HN. You’re (meaning the submitter) the author and the game is free, so I think it meets the requirements for Show HN.

I had never heard of navigator.storage.persist(). I will give it a try, thanks!

Thanks! Honestly, comments like this probably have a more positive impact on me than the small amount of money I could have made by selling the game :)

Wow, that link indicates that members likely won’t get anything, even their $5 share, back. So who is benefitting from the sale?

I published a not-super-popular (edit: but free) esoteric programming game on Steam and of the < 100 (Steam) hardware survey responses for people who have played my game, I'm seeing closer to 5% on Linux (edit to add: my game doesn&

One issue with publishing a browser-based game that this article glosses over is: managing save data. The browser provides Local Storage, but that isn't reliable as a "source of truth" since browsers (mostly on iOS, I think)

Given the history of data breaches, my first thought is that this could have been a scam. For anyone else in this position (esp. if you’re fairly certain it’s not a scam), here is some info on what you can do: https://consumer.

I would assume DAP predates (and possibly motivated) JSONRPC (edit: so it might have been working off of a draft spec). Hopefully someone knowledgeable can comment.

As an additional data point, my usual OOM experience on Linux is also a completely frozen system until I get frustrated enough to power cycle the machine. Has anyone transitioned from this being their observed behavior to something more tol

I assumed this would be unusable on my phone, but it actually works great! And nice work on the load time. Every time a non-photorealistic game takes more than a few seconds to load on my desktop, I get unreasonably annoyed. Note: I don’t t

Related question: any suggestions on what to try next after LMMS? I was planning to try Reaper or FL Studio. My biggest complaints with LMMS are: doesn’t support VST3, can’t see notes for multiple tracks at the same time (although I saw a “
