As the article discusses, much (though not all) of the issue he has is with the display value in UIs or published data.

I would consider storing (as part of the database) or defining (as part of the display code) the number of significant digits for coordinates part of good GIS design.

Depends on the equipment. Sub centimeter with the right equipment and appropriate reference station. 3 meters, typically, with consumer equipment.

Absolutely this. Or I'll get a CAD export in "Wyoming State Plane" but no indication that the designer decided to work in inches, not (US survey) feet. I spend more time than I ever would have guessed playing datum detective.

Interesting, but as a daily user of one of these Dell laptops, I would never do this. Its some of the worst hardware I've ever had the misfortune to use.

Wyoming has very low air density, which reduces the power generation potential. It also has a tiny population, limited transmission capacity, difficult terrain, and short building seasons. That said, there are transmission system upgrades f

This is true, though most of the newer Great Plains wind developments are in the mid-40 percent range and up right now.

For the most part the federal Production Tax Credit is the only subsidy of substance that applies to wind farms in the US.

Yes and no. Anything over 200 feet requires FAA review and approval, including of lighting. Up to 499 feet the rules are simple and well understood. Between 500 and 699 feet the rules and review are more difficult, and there are a number of

Here's the actual press release from Duke. It has a little more information on the technology, though it's still not super detailed. https://news.duke-energy.com/releases/duke-energy-renewables...

This is a very short article with an absolute dearth of information and an extremely misleading and baiting headline. If someone is willing to do the legwork to locate some real information these projects, this technology, and what Duke is

Even when you can swap a battery out in 5 minutes you may have a long processing time. I had to wait over 4 weeks for Dell to get me a replacement battery this year for a similar issue because battery supply itself was constrained.

As others have noted this is a hilariously bad post, because in practice Windows (which is so enthusiastically praised here) is incredibly inconsistent in font rendering program by program, and on most non-hidpi screens looks like trash. Es

I'm not sure how this made it to the front page. It mashes up several things about passwords, some of which are dangerous, some of which are smart. It acknowledges the strength of a system like diceware. Then it concludes 'Don
