I’ve talked with several developers thinking it was too soon for them to apply to their first React job. Most of the time, they knew enough already. I decided to list what you do and don’t need to know to be ready for your first React techn

I just read the first paragraphs, and added it to my reading list! I heard about deliberate practice for the first time in Cal Newport’s “Deep Work”. I’m a developer and coding is a perfect discipline where deliberate practice can apply.

I don’t know why, but I agree it can be annoying… As a trick, you can use the API [1]. Get the story ID in the URL of your post, and place it at the end of the API call (e.g. [2]). If the result has `dead: true`, your post is… well… dead ;)

It works pretty well! I would add a big red disclaimer such as: “be careful: putting here code source from your job is probably highly against the rules of your company, and you may get FIRED!” ^^

A good way to have deadlines is to presell the book, and promise these deadlines to people who paid. Example: buy now for 50% of the final price, two chapters already ready, and I promise one new chapter every two weeks. I use this strategy

I sell courses and e-books, but I wouldn’t advise you doing it for the money. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great experience, and I’ll continue doing it. But it’s a terrible way to invest your time for money. Building and selling a product or

I often go to https://www.indiehackers.com/products . Sometimes I feel inspired by new projects. Note that it’s just a way to find ideas, not one to know if this idea will work or not :)

Maybe it isn’t boring enough for you, but now I start all my projects with Next.js using its serverless features. It’s probably because I’m proficient with JavaScript and TypeScript. If you don’t like/need React for frontend, you can j
