We did run a test some time ago. We weren't in a position to pay for their enterprise edition and the community edition didn't have the right feature set for us. Differences between the two here: http://www.infobright.org/Learn-More/ICE_IE

We went old school. We have a whole bunch of MySQL instances that we've sharded (using consistent hashing). Queries are sent to all of the shards and then aggregated on one of our query servers. We also aggregate as we go which means there'

This is great. I've been keeping an eye on the meta markets blog for entries about Druid because we've been doing something similar and it's always useful to see how other folk are solving a shared problem. Regarding what's on github: a lot

I suspect that if TypeScript takes off that this will probably be crowd sourced, i.e. expect to see a ts-node project on github. That said, I think they've done a reasonably good job of making it painless. Even if it weren't required, I qui

Nope. I probably should have used a different example for the interface. The examples are from the full spec where they progress a little more gradually from a BankAccount interface to a BankAccount class to a CheckingAccount subclass.

Very interesting. The Apache 2.0 Licence is comforting, makes it worth having a look. The docs are here for anyone interested in the spec: http://typescript.codeplex.com/documentation I like what they've done. Nothing too revolutionary, m

It's amusing that in a thread about the advantages of Haskell, immutability is being identified as the largest failure a language has made. I don't think immutable Strings are a bad idea but I do think it's unfortunate that Java: - Made Str

It's a good point but the wording in the guidelines suggests that both the 3rd party and the site operator share responsibility to get consent (ignoring the fact that Facebook may just sidestep this, being a US based company): "The person s
